Designed to provide access to the tail section of all series of DC-10 aircraft including the USAF KC-10 Tanker. The unit is compatible with all power bootstrap hoists for engine removal and does not require repositioning.
The stand's main characteristics:
1. MAIN DECK
The stand consists of a main deck with contoured forward cutout for the tail cone in the raised and open position. Sliders extend to close up the open doors.
2. ROLLING PLATFORM
When the tail cone is down, a track-mounted rolling platform covers deck cutout and provides an inspection and maintenance work area under the engine fan section. When tail cone is UP and aircraft patio doors are open, platform is rolled aft and stowed,
3. MOBILITY
Large diameter casters with brakes and swivel locks permit easy stand positioning, A tow bar is provided.
4. CONSTRUCTION
Bolted and welded structural steel tubing with non-skid Aerodeck stair treads and flooring. Handrails and toe plates are provided on all open sides. The design is in compliance with all OSHA codes.
5. SERVICE OUTLETS
Air and electrical outlets are standard on the main deck.
