Design
- Cradle (AM-1802):
Steel weldment with tubular arms supporting engine ground handling mounts for safe and secure transport of the CFM56-3 engine - Base (AM-1803):
Steel weldment featuring retractable casters and integral shock mount assemblies to transport the cradle and engine by air or truck.
Cradle and base pin together with four locking pins for added stability. - Fabricated from ASTM A500, A513, and A36 structural steel
- Bolted connections use A325 structural bolts or SAE Grade 5 hardware
- Primed and painted with high-grade, Skydrol resistant enamel (color optional)
- Pins and miscellaneous hardware are corrosion resistant or plated as required
Mobility
- Transport base supported by four dual-wheel caster assemblies, each with 5″ wide x 10″ diameter polyurethane wheels (shock absorbing)
- Each caster rated for 5,000 lbs capacity and includes position locks and face brakes
- All four casters pin in raised position for air or truck transport (with engine)
- Tow bars stow directly on the base frame when not in use
- Maximum towing speed: 3 MPH (4.83 Km/h)
